Multi-talented performer and skilled dramatic & comedic actress raised in Springfield, Oregon and currently living in Los Angeles.
She is perhaps best known for playing ‘Evie Murphy’ in the critically-acclaimed HBO drama series “The Leftovers” opposite Justin Theroux and Regina King. Widely accepted as one of the more revolutionary 24 shows in recent memory, “The Leftovers” became the highest-ranked show of the 2010s according to a study of decade-end lists by Metacritic.
Brown also gained notoriety playing a series regular character and historical figure ‘Emilia Bassano’ on the TNT drama series “Will”, which told the story of a young William Shakespeare. Emilia was a poet and songstress believed to be the ‘Dark Lady’ of Shakespeares’s sonnets; Brown’s performance showcased her unique aptitude for accents, singing, and dancing.
She then went on to play ‘Allison Adams’ in the Shondaland / ABC court drama series “For The People” alongside Britt Robertson. Brown’s most recent film “The Sound of Violence” premiered at 2021’s SXSW film festival, where she received high praise for her lead performance.
Her additional credits include: Freeform’s “Stitchers”, Netflix’s “Love”, ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy”, Disney XD’s “LEGO Star Wars: All Stars”, FOX’s “Brooklyn Nine-Nine”, “Lane 1974”, and “Laggies”. She is also on Showtime series “Yellowjackets” alongside Juliette Lewis and Christina Ricci, which tells the story of a high-school soccer trip gone awry.
Jasmin is an indie singer/songwriter working on an upcoming album, debuting original tracks and music videos; she is influenced by the sounds of Olivia Dean and Angie McMahon. She is an advocate for women’s healthcare, normalizing discussions on mental health, uplifting the LGBTQ+ community, and has been vocal about her experience with endometriosis. She also has a new podcast, “The Gay Agenda”, for MOST, Netflix’s home for LGBTQ+ storytelling. The Gay Agenda is hosted by Jasmin and fellow Yellowjackets actor, Liv Hewson. Each week they interview a different queer person in the public eye, celebrating their successes through intimate, curious, joyful conversation. Jasmin hosts, produces, and created the show as she continues to speak out about the need for diversity and representation in the media and beyond. Jasmin is a proud alum of New York’s CAP21 Conservatory for their prestigious summer musical theatre intensive as well as the Los Angeles ABC Diversity Showcase.
