Rules of a Requel
“There are certain rules to surviving a requel. Rule number one: Never trust the love interest. Rule number two: The killer’s motive is always connected to something in the past. Rule number three: The first victim always has a friend group that the killer is a part of. And rule number four: The movie always goes back to the original. That’s what makes it a requel.” – Mindy Meeks-Martin
Plot Overview
Twenty-five years after the original Woodsboro murders, the quiet town is once again plunged into chaos as a new Ghostface emerges, targeting a group of teenagers connected to the town’s dark history. At the center of this nightmare are Samantha Carpenter (Melissa Barrera) and her younger sister Tara (Jenna Ortega). When Tara is viciously attacked, Sam is forced to return to Woodsboro to protect her sister and uncover the truth behind the killings.
Sam’s return unveils dark secrets, including her own disturbing connection to the town’s violent past. As the body count rises, Sam and Tara must rely on help from survivors of the original murders: Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell), Gale Weathers (Courteney Cox), and Dewey Riley (David Arquette). Together, they face a Ghostface more brutal and calculated than ever before.
In this new chapter, the rules of survival have changed, and no one can be trusted. With old wounds reopened and new threats emerging, the Carpenter sisters must fight to survive in a world where the line between victim and killer is razor-thin.
It’s not just a sequel—it’s a requel. And everyone’s a suspect.
