Rules of a Franchise

“Here’s the new rules. They’re not just rules. They’re guidelines for surviving a franchise: Rule one: Everything is bigger than last time. Bigger budget, bigger cast, bigger body count. Rule two: Whatever happened last time, expect the opposite. Rule three: No one is safe. Legacy characters? Cannon fodder at this point. New characters? Don’t get too attached. Rule four: The movie’s not about the main character this time. Anyone can die in a franchise.” – Mindy Meeks-Martin

Plot Overview

After surviving the brutal Woodsboro murders, Samantha Carpenter (Melissa Barrera) and her sister Tara Carpenter (Jenna Ortega) move to New York City, hoping to leave their past behind and start fresh. Alongside fellow survivors Mindy Meeks-Martin (Jasmin Savoy Brown) and Chad Meeks-Martin (Mason Gooding), the group attempts to rebuild their lives.

But the horrors of Woodsboro follow them to the city when a new Ghostface emerges, more relentless and brutal than ever before. The bustling urban setting turns every corner into a potential death trap, forcing the survivors to face their fears in a place where no one can hear you scream.

As the body count rises, Samantha confronts the dark legacy of her father, Billy Loomis, while Tara struggles to reclaim her independence in the shadow of their shared trauma. Meanwhile, familiar faces return, including Gale Weathers (Courteney Cox) and Kirby Reed (Hayden Panettiere), each bringing their own motivations and scars to the fight.

In a city of millions, trust is fleeting, and survival is anything but guaranteed. The rules have changed, and this time, Ghostface is taking no prisoners.

New city. New rules. Same killer instinct.
