According to Shock Till You Drop, The Weinstein Company (TWC) has just announced its new gaming division, TWC Games, which will develop video games across mobile, social, and console platforms. With their vast catalog of horror movie properties—including Scream, Children of the Corn, Hellraiser, and Halloween—the possibilities are thrilling.
Imagine an investigation game packed with chase scenes, suspenseful puzzles, and the terror of a Ghostface lurking in the shadows. Could this be the ultimate Scream experience for fans?
TWC co-chairman Bob Weinstein expressed his enthusiasm for the gaming initiative:
“The video game marketplace is changing at such a rapid rate. With all of the digital platforms, there are so many opportunities to broaden our audience with compelling, high-quality, cost-efficient video game entertainment.”
To bring these games to life, TWC Games has partnered with Beefy Media, a video game production company. Beefy Media President Adam Boyes will collaborate with Matthew Signer, TWC Vice President of Production and Creative Affairs, to foster partnerships and oversee game production. Boyes shared his excitement:
“The Weinstein Company is an incredible entertainment company, and I share their vision for creating very high-quality content for the marketplace. We plan to combine our extensive video game developer relationships with the impressive catalog of properties to create and produce content made by gamers for gamers.”
This announcement opens the door to endless possibilities. What would a Scream video game look like?
