The former webmaster of WesCraven.com, William Perry, and the original Ghostface, Lee Waddell, will release recordings from the Horror Maestro.
How would it feel to find a box with tapes with lost recordings of Wes Craven narrating stories from his movies? Bananas, right? But that’s what happened with the former webmaster of wescraven.com, William Perry.
“I was cleaning out my garage and found a box of all sorts of movie memorabilia I had stored and forgotten about. I saw the tapes, but I didn’t have a cassette player, so I had Amazon overnight one to me. It’s probably my age, but I don’t remember having listened to them. It’s really good stuff.”
And the timing to find and divulge those was perfect as well: Perry is currently working on the website of his friend, stuntman Lee Waddell – no one less than the man who killed Drew Barrymore on screen, in SCREAM -, aka The Original Ghostface.
“Doing Wes’ site was a springboard to a whole new career for me. Like Lee, I was a stuntman for a lot of horror movies but was looking for a more stable income when I got married. I dove into web design and graphic design and have been doing it since.”
“I would call him each month to see what he wanted to talk about. He was promoting a novel he wrote (THE FOUNTAIN SOCIETY), a non-horror film he’d completed (MUSIC OF THE HEART) and he was editing SCREAM 3. He was doing the press gauntlet and was on the radio. He sent me the recordings to use as talking points because posting audio wasn’t as easy as it is now (pre-broadband!).”
Perry and Waddell will be releasing this treasure, little by little, on their social media. So, be sure to follow and marvel over amazing stories, like this one from this exclusive sneak peek:
