Scream 7’s Resurrection Tour: Roman’s Back—Is Richie Next?

Scott Foley and Matthew Lillard are back in Scream 7, but could Jack Quaid be next? The actor plays coy when asked about returning as Richie Kirsch. Watch!

Scott Foley is back in Scream 7—but even he doesn’t know how, or at least that’s what he claims.

During an appearance on Good Morning America, Foley, who played Roman Bridger in Scream 3, teased his return, again, despite his character’s brutal demise:

“I don’t know how it works out… Spoiler alert! 25 years ago, I was the killer in Scream 3, and he was brutally taken to town and killed. And now I’m back in Scream 7, and I’m not sure how it’s going to work.”

Foley also talked about a huge reunion on set, which might indicate that whatever chaos is about to unfold brought all of them together in Atlanta, where the film was shot.

It’s so much fun and I got to see Neve [Campbell] again and David Arquette again. And Kevin Williamson, who wrote the first one and put me in… I was in Dawson’s Creek, which was the first TV show he did years ago — he’s directing this one. And we had so much fun being on set. It was just great being around people you love and know.

With Matthew Lillard’s return as Stu Macher already confirmed, Scream 7 seems to be breaking its own rules—or at least redefining what “dead” means in this franchise.

But Foley isn’t the only Ghostface being asked about a possible return…

Jack Quaid Plays It Coy on Scream 7

While walking the red carpet for his new film Novocaine, Jack Quaid, who played Richie Kirsch in Scream (2022), was asked by Entertainment Tonight whether he could be the next surprise returnee.

ET: “A lot of dead characters are popping up in Scream 7. Can we expect you?”

Jack Quaid: “Oh my god, I don’t know for sure yet. I don’t know. I will keep my mouth closed on that one.”

That’s not exactly a denial.

Considering Richie met a gruesome fate at the hands of Sam Carpenter (Melissa Barrera) in Scream (2022), and that didn’t keep him from making a brief cameo in Scream VI, Scream 7 bringing back past killers isn’t exactly uncharted territory.

According to the official filming schedule, Scream 7 wrapped up on March 12.

So, I think we’ll have to wait until March 27, 2026, when Kevin Williamson’s Scream 7 opens worldwide, to find out.
