Inside the STAB shrine from SCREAM VI

Scream 6, Trailer

The new trailer of SCREAM VI has finally arrived, and here’s a dissection of some interesting moments. But, before you proceed, a warning: we might bring up some unnoticed things that might configure as minor spoilers.

Are you ready?

The STAB shrine

SCREAM fans like to go in memory lane, and someone knows it. At a certain point in the trailer, journalist Gale Weathers (Courteney Cox) introduces to the new Scooby Gang a “STAB Shrine”.

Someone is keeping a crazy amount of memorabilia from the real murders committed by Ghost Faces from the past. You can see all the robes from the killers, costumes from the victims, and even masks from SCREAM 2‘s production of Cassandra.

Bloody Disgusting has an extensive identification article of all easter eggs, here.

STAB souvenirs? Creepy and fascinating at the same time!

The new Ghost Face is something different.

Even that the new masked killer adverts that he is “something different,” and shows by holding a shotgun, he has some legacy objects and moves that go back to the original.

Like using a deteriorated and aged mask (that we can realize that used to belong to “the shrine”), and cleaning the blood of the knife for a new victim.

Good thing that he follows sanitary guidelines, right?

Samantha still has daddy issues.

It’s a good thing that Samantha Carpenter (Melissa Barrera) is seeking therapy. But it doesn’t help that a new incautious Ghost Face is disturbing the healing of the daughter of a serial killer.

Not only she’ll be dragged to a new slaughterhouse, but on “the shrine” she will get in touch with daddy dearest’s body of work and belongings.

Fresh blood.

One of the most incredible things about every chapter is getting to know, falling in love with, and quickly grieving a new batch of newcomers.

We have glimpses of Liana Liberato, Jack Champion, Josh Segarra, Devyn Nekoda, Tony Revolori, Samara Weaving, and Dermot Mulroney (who has just got himself an IG account, yay).

Kirby is alive!

The Justice for Kirby Reed (Hayden Panettiere) riot on Twitter worked. It’s just poetic that now she works with law enforcement.

Rumors have it she is now with the FBI. Well, hello Claric… Kirby!

Chase scenes are back!

Jenna Ortega wasn’t lying about action-packed, enerving chasing scenes. Something that many fans addressed as “lacking,” during the last installment.

Directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin & Tyler Gillett and screenwriters James Vanderbilt & Guy Busick seem to have listened.

Gale Weathers finally gets a call.

Lots of fans had complaints about Gale Weathers never having a menacing conversation with Ghost Face on the phone before. The one time it almost happened, was in SCREAM 2, but Randy (Jamie Kennedy) got in the way… And on the knife.

But now, it happens. And the odds don’t appear to be in her favor.

Awn… And she has the same portrait that nostalgic Dewey (David Arquette) kept in his house during SCREAM 5. [Sobbing noises]

Spoilers ahead…

Unlike the last time, this trailer doesn’t deliver [so] many spoilers. Kudos to the marketing team. But we see at least two male characters getting the chop.
