This is the extra every Scream fan has been dying for! Bloody-Disgusting reports that Anthony Masi, known for producing acclaimed horror documentaries like His Name Was Jason (Friday the 13th) and Halloween: 25 Years of Terror, is teaming up with Ryan Turek for a definitive look at the Scream franchise.
With the blessing of Bob Weinstein and Wes Craven, Masi and Turek have been working on the project since March, compiling dozens of interviews with cast and crew from all four films. The documentary promises to deliver:
- Rare archival footage
- Never-before-seen photos
- New on-set stories
- An in-depth exploration of Scream’s success, from its inception to Scream 4
In addition to these exciting elements, the project will include a fictional tie-in segment to be filmed in Los Angeles later this month. According to Masi, the documentary is set to release on DVD and TV to coincide with the premiere of Scream 4 on April 15, 2011.
As a sneak peek, Wes Craven recently tweeted a photo of Matthew Lillard, sparking speculation and excitement about the documentary’s content. With rare insights, archival treasures, and fresh perspectives, The Untitled Scream Retrospective promises to be a must-watch for every fan of the franchise.
