For Scream fans who are also collectors, 2011 is shaping up to be an exciting year! Fun World, the home of GhostFace©, is gearing up to launch a variety of exclusive Scream 4 products, ensuring fans can immerse themselves in the franchise beyond the big screen.
During the Halloween Costume Expo in Houston, Fun World will introduce several new GhostFace© products, including a female-version costume and collector’s items like an exclusive tie that John Valeri from SFE will reveal soon.
R.J. Torbert, the Godfather of GhostFace© and Fun World’s licensor director, recently shared even more exciting news. In a chat live from Hong Kong, where he’s overseeing the development of next year’s merchandise, Torbert revealed an official Scream 4 polo shirt.
The polo shirt, featuring the iconic GhostFace© and Scream 4 logo, is limited to just 200 units. These will be distributed to select buyers, Weinstein Company executives, Wes Craven, and Fun World staff. Fans have a chance to snag one of these coveted shirts—five will be given away on Torbert’s Twitter account, but there’s a catch: asking for a shirt automatically disqualifies you. Winners will be chosen at random from his followers.
Since 1999, GhostFace© has been a protected trademark of Fun World. However, its iconic status often leads to misuse. Recently, an advertising agency used the GhostFace© image without authorization in a global campaign for Burger King.
As reported by Ghostface.co.uk, a verbal settlement was initially reached, and it’s now official: Burger King and Fun World have finalized a deal, with Torbert signing off on the agreement.
“This proves Fun World will be very aggressive toward any company if they are using our property in an unauthorized fashion,” Torbert shared on HelloSidney.com’s Scream Chat Roll*.
* Note: The Scream Chat Roll was an interactive feature on HelloSidney.com, but it has not been active since 2012.
With new merchandise on the horizon and Fun World’s unwavering commitment to GhostFace©, 2011 will be a year to remember for Scream fans. From exclusive collectibles to the excitement surrounding Scream 4, there’s no better time to stay connected with the franchise.
