The master behind the music of Scream, Marco Beltrami, recently shared insights into the art of composing for the franchise in an interview with John Valeri. Beltrami reflected on the evolution of the score across the trilogy and its fresh take in Scream 4.
“What’s great about it is that it’s faithful to the spirit of the original movies, but it’s not a simple rehashing, so it doesn’t feel old… It has its own interesting twists, and it’s definitely a fun ride. I think it works really well.”
Beltrami’s haunting compositions have been pivotal in creating the eerie atmosphere of the Scream saga. Fans can expect Scream 4 to stay true to the chilling essence of its predecessors while introducing new and suspenseful musical elements.
“I think everyone will really have fun with the movie, and I’m anxious for people to see it,” he added.
