Lucy Hale, the star of Pretty Little Liars, recently joined 90210’s Shenae Grimes on a quick trip to Michigan, where both filmed cameos for the highly anticipated Scream 4. The rumor mill has been spinning ever since, with fans wondering how their characters fit into the Scream universe.
When asked by Zap2It about her role, Lucy was playful but noncommittal. One theory floated her way was that she and Shenae might be playing themselves as actors starring in a Stab film—a reboot within the reboot of Scream 4. “I’ll hit you up after the movie comes out to see if you’re right,” Lucy teased, adding with a smirk, “Good guess, though.”
Lucy’s role may be small, but she didn’t hold back in describing how memorable the experience was. “I was only there for a few days,” she shared. “We did a couple of night shoots. They had been filming nights for like a month and a half. I don’t know how they did it, because I did it for a few nights, and I was like, ‘I don’t even know where I am right now.’”
The night shoots, a staple of Scream productions, are notorious for their intensity, but Lucy took it in stride. While she didn’t get to meet the franchise’s core trio—Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, and David Arquette—who had wrapped filming before her arrival, she still felt honored to be part of such an iconic project.
“Just to be a part of something that huge, with such a cult following, was awesome,” Lucy said. “Even if I had a tiny part in it, it’s just cool to be part of such a big picture and such a great cast. To work with Wes Craven was great. I can’t wait for it to come out.”
