After 11 years of marriage, Courteney Cox and David Arquette—one of Hollywood’s most beloved couples—have decided to separate. The pair released a heartfelt statement earlier today, emphasizing their continued friendship and commitment to co-parenting their daughter, Coco Arquette.
“The reason for this separation is to better understand ourselves and the qualities we need in a partner and for our marriage,” the statement reads. “We remain best friends and responsible parents to our daughter and we still love each other deeply. As we go through this process, we are determined to use kindness and understanding to get through this together.”
The statement continued:
“We are comfortable with the boundaries that we have established for each other during this separation, and we hope that our friends, family, fans, and the media also show us respect, dignity, understanding, and love at this time as well.”
Courteney and David first met while filming Wes Craven’s Scream (1996), where their chemistry was undeniable, both on and off-screen. Over the years, they became a fan-favorite couple, frequently appearing together at events and sharing heartfelt moments with their audience.
Their decision to part ways marks the end of a significant chapter in both their lives, but their commitment to mutual respect and love serves as an inspiring example of navigating personal challenges with grace.
