Here’s what we know so far: Sidney (Neve Campbell) has written a book titled Out of the Darkness, sharing her story of resilience through her tragic past.
- Sidney’s outfits so far include a purple dress and a blue dress, likely from costume tests.
- She has an ambitious assistant, played by Alison Brie.
- Photos taken from a distance on the secretive Scream 4 set reveal Sidney promoting her book at a local bookstore—where Gale’s (Courteney Cox) latest thriller, The Knife of Doom, is also on display.
It seems like there’s a “meet the author” event in Woodsboro, where the anniversary of the killings has become almost a Halloween festival. Some of this is still speculation…
Last night, the LA Times published a quick interview with Neve Campbell, captured at a charity poker event:
“I basically can tell you nothing,” she said.
The Scream franchise, notorious for its secrecy, stays true to form. Campbell, however, was thrilled to discuss reuniting with co-stars Courteney Cox and David Arquette.
“It’s great working with Courteney and David again; it’s like summer camp. The biggest change is this younger cast, and they’re great,” she said, referring to newcomers Emma Roberts and Hayden Panettiere.
Her character, Sidney Prescott, who survived the first three films, “has written a book about surviving the tragedy in her life. That’s where the film opens.”
This detail hints that with a “new decade” and “new rules,” perhaps the movie’s structure has evolved, too. One thing is certain: her screen time in Scream 4 may resemble her limited role in Scream 3, at least when it comes to outdoor scenes.
