Desperately seeking Sid

Neve Campbell, Scream 4

That’s what we know so far: Sidney has written a book called Out of the Darkness. It tells her side of the story and how she overcame her tragic life.

-We’ve seen her wearing two outfits: a purple dress and a blue dress (that can be a costume test).

-She has an envious assistant, portrayed by  Alison Brie.

In the pictures, taken from some distance, at the secretive SCREAM 4 set, we also learn that she’s making an appearance to promote her book in the local bookstore – where they’re also selling Gale’s latest thriller, The Knife of Doom.

It seems to me like they’re promoting a book reading/meet the author in Woodsboro, where the anniversary of the killings have became a sort of Halloween festival. But some of that is only speculation…

Last night, LA Times published a quick interview with Neve Campbell, taken when she was attending to a charity poker:

“I basically can tell you nothing,” she said.

The Wes Craven slasher franchise has notoriously been tight-lipped, but Campbell was all smiles about reuniting with costars Courteney Cox and David Arquette.

“It’s great working with Courteney and David again; it’s like summer camp. The biggest change is this younger cast we have, and they’re great,” she said of new additions such as Emma Roberts and Hayden Panettiere.

Her character, Sidney Prescott, who survived the first three films, “has written a book about surviving the tragedy in her life. That’s where the film opens.”

The “where the film opens” line makes us think that if it is a “new decade” and there are “new rules“, maybe the structure of the movie has changed too. But one thing we can testify: her appearance on SCREAM 4 is pretty much like in SCREAM 3, short, at least when we’re talking about external shoots.

What do you think?
