The wait is almost over! Scream 5—or simply Scream, if it follows the Halloween (2018) naming trend—will officially hit theaters on January 14, 2022!
The announcement came with a first teaser, shared by director Tyler Gillett, franchise creator Kevin Williamson, and actress Melissa Barrera, who is rumored to be the film’s new lead.
With returning legacy stars David Arquette and Courteney Cox, plus newcomers like Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega, the fifth installment in the iconic slasher series is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated horror films of the decade.
Production is set in Wilmington, North Carolina, and the film will see the Radio Silence team (Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett) taking the reins—known for their work on Ready or Not.
More details are still under wraps, but Ghostface is officially coming back—and now we know when.
