Scream 5 wraps filming in Wilmington. Cast bonds, Craven is honored, and a pandemic shoot ends in harmony. See you in January 2022.
Today marks the end of the beginning for Scream 5. After weeks of quiet, focused, and low-profile production, the fifth installment in the franchise has officially wrapped filming.
Unlike the chaos that often surrounds major horror sets, this shoot unfolded with a sense of harmony and shared purpose. The cast reportedly formed a strong bond on set — something that mirrors the camaraderie of the original Santa Rosa crew back in Scream (1996). As David Arquette noted during the Scream Reunion, that kind of connection has a way of translating to the screen.
Filming Locations & Behind-the-Scenes Details
The complete list of filming locations was confirmed by a crew T-shirt shared by legendary behind-the-scenes photographer Brownie Harris.
Shot entirely in Wilmington, North Carolina, the production recreated Woodsboro with locations including:
Each location helped build a Woodsboro 2.0 that honors the past while carving a path for a new generation.
A Dedication to Wes Craven
From the very start, Scream (2022) has been a tribute to the late Wes Craven. His influence, vision, and voice remain at the core of this project — ensuring that while this may be a new chapter, it’s still his story.
