The journalists at Entertainment Tonight are proving relentless in their pursuit of Scream 7 details, and their latest interviews with Jasmin Savoy Brown and Scott Foley have given fans cool tidbits to dissect. With the film deep into production, the actors remain tight-lipped, yet their responses hint at the bloody chaos ahead.
ET has always been closely tied to the Scream franchise, having covered every installment since the 1996 original. From set visits to exclusive cast interviews, their coverage has been a go-to source for fans eager for behind-the-scenes details. Now, they’re once again at the forefront, teasing what’s to come in the highly anticipated sequel.
Jasmin Savoy Brown on Mindy’s Return & Collaborating with Kevin Williamson
During the Yellowjackets Season 3 premiere, ET’s Deidre Behar caught up with Jasmin Savoy Brown (Mindy Meeks-Martin), who couldn’t hide her enthusiasm about returning to Scream 7—especially under the direction of Scream creator Kevin Williamson.
“Kevin has already said this, okay, so I can say it too—Mindy is his favorite character. And so, for Kevin to direct this film, and for us to get to collaborate together on this iconic queer character, has meant everything to me. I am honored.”
The franchise’s legacy of final girls and horror nerds continues strong, and with the mastermind behind it all steering the ship, this sequel is shaping up to be a significant one.
When asked about the return of Scott Foley, and Matthew Lillard, Brown admitted to being “blown away” and described filming as “a lot of fun.”
But when pressed about sharing scenes with these Scream icons, she caught herself before slipping.
“Oh, man, I mean, look—you almost got me, but you didn’t. But you actually almost got me.”
That’s as close to a confirmation as we’ll get—for now. But one thing she did let slip? She and Courteney Cox have had enough off-screen bonding time for Cox to gift her some of her Coco Moi fragrance. If they’re spending that much time together, it certainly suggests their characters will have significant interactions on-screen.
Scott Foley Denies (and Denies, and Denies) His Role in Scream 7
Meanwhile, over on ET’s interview circuit, Rachel Smith sat down with Scott Foley to discuss his new Netflix rom-com La Dolce Villa. But, naturally, the conversation veered toward Scream 7 and the return of Roman Bridger.
And that’s where things got very interesting.
“You are coming back for Part 7. But how in the world is that the case? That Roman’s coming back? Because he was shot in the head. You were dead as can be.”
Foley, ever the professional, dodged expertly.
“That’s a great… Man, these are good questions. You’re good at what you do.”
When pressed further, he leaned into his noncommittal stance:
“If I had the answer, I would pull you out of these microphones, and I would whisper it in your ear, and I would tell you exactly what’s going to happen to the character—how he’s back.”
But here’s where things take a twist—Foley denied filming any scenes yet, despite multiple sightings of him in Atlanta. He admitted to being housed in the same hotel as the Scream 7 cast and even hopping into the wrong van—a Scream 7 production vehicle—by accident.
“The guy was like, ‘Scream?’ And I was like, ‘Yeah.’ He’s like, ‘No, no, no. Are you going to shoot Scream?’ And I was like, ‘No, I did that 20 years ago.’”
A coincidence? Perhaps. But given that we’ve already seen actors downplay their involvement in past Scream entries, fans aren’t convinced.
Foley did, however, admit to feeling “flattered” and “excited” about continuing Roman Bridger’s legacy—whatever that may be.” Considering he’s the only Ghostface to act alone, his return, in any form, is bound to make waves.
