Back in the 90s, Scream served as inspiration to dozens of films such as Urban Legends, Cherry Falls and Cut… It reinvigorated the genre and presented it to a new generation. After a decade of torture porn and then the supernatural poltergeists flicks, maybe it is time again to a good thriller.
It was announced recently that horror legend Wes Craven is producing a new movie called The Girl in the Photographs. Set against the backdrop of the fashion world, it is said to be inspired by the Scream franchise. “The film will bring a modern sensibility to the genre”, promises the press release.
Nick Simon is set to direct, and it will be the first project of Al-Ghanim Entertainment (AGE), a Los Angeles and Kuwaiti-based specialty financing and production company.
The film is currently in the casting stage.
