Are we witnessing a new Scream tradition? History may be repeating itself on the set of Scream 6, as another director’s chair might have just leaked the film’s official title.

This wouldn’t be the first time. Back in 2020, while Scream (2022) was still filming under the working title Parkside, production designer Chad Keith inadvertently revealed the real title. A behind-the-scenes Instagram post confirmed what many suspected—the movie was simply called SCREAM. The official announcement came later, but Keith’s post had already spoiled the surprise.

Now, a similar situation is unfolding. Earlier today, an innocuous BTS video—quickly deleted—showed what appeared to be co-director Tyler Gillett sitting on his director’s chair, with a visible logo suggesting the sequel’s title.

Given the speed at which the footage disappeared, and considering past leaks, Scream II or Scream !! could very well be the official name of Scream 6, which has been filming under the working title Blackmore.

Personally, I’m all for Scream !!—the exclamation points add a modern, visceral energy, perfectly capturing the shock, thrill, and terror that define the franchise.
