Woodsboro, or the next place where SCREAM 6 is set in, is moving to the Canadian city of Montreal. After the wine country in California, Ann Harbor in Michigan, and most recently Wilmington in North Carolina, the largest town in the province of Quebec will be the stage of the next slasher fest.
The recently announced sequel to the requel will be the first one of the franchise to be filmed outside the US, as reported in the latest issue of Production Weekly – a famous listing of production breakdowns for those who work in the film industry.
Canada offers tax incentives, more affordable movie sets, and lower living costs which means saving lots of money. I’m already calling all of my possible future sources to stick in!
The principal photography of SCREAM 6 will begin this summer with a rumored 2023 release.
