Wes Craven sheds light on the evolving process of filmmaking and its intersection with social networking in Scream 4. Speaking to Digital Spy, the legendary director highlighted the impact of digital culture on storytelling:
“It’s been an extraordinary decade, and the rise of social networking and the internet in general have been a huge part of it. I’m fascinated by the way filmmaking and blogmaking are starting to merge. And in this film, the plot is built around those kinds of elements. Things have happened in that decade that are just unprecedented.”
Craven’s commentary hints at how Scream 4 incorporates the modern age of connectivity and online presence into its chilling narrative, adding an extra layer of relevance to Ghost Face’s return.
