Hollywood, CA: During the BAFTA Tea Event, when asked about a possible return to the SCREAM franchise, Neve Campbell left the door open without burning any bridges. This statement comes amid the tumultuous developments of SCREAM 7.
In a red-carpet interview, Campbell showed interest in the latest updates of the project. She expressed her dismay about the project’s ongoing struggles, commenting, “It’s sad that they’re struggling at the moment. I would imagine that the people at the top are spinning a little bit, trying to make the right decision.“
Her deep connection to the franchise was apparent as she fondly reminisced about its heritage, particularly her reverence for the late Wes Craven, the creative force behind the original SCREAM movies.
The actress’s remarks have generated significant interest on social media, especially in light of the recent disturbances within the SCREAM 7 project. Notably, the production has been disrupted by the contentious departures of prominent figures like Melissa Barrera, director Christopher Landon, and Jenna Ortega.
Campbell’s statement also casts a light on the frequently misleading narratives propagated by clickbait-focused media outlets. Considering her exit from the franchise in 2022, during the production of SCREAM VI, due to a salary dispute, Campbell’s potential comeback is unexpected for many.
