The Scream legacy grows stronger with the addition of rising star Celeste O’Connor to the cast of Scream 7, as reported by Deadline. O’Connor joins the new wave of Scream stars, adding fresh talent to the franchise’s evolving ensemble.
While O’Connor’s role remains under wraps, they’ll star alongside Neve Campbell, returning as the legendary Sidney Prescott, and Isabel May, who has been confirmed to play Sidney’s daughter.
O’Connor’s previous work in Freaky, the 2020 body-swap slasher film, showcased their ability to balance horror and humor—a hallmark of the Scream franchise. In Freaky, written by Michael Kennedy and directed by Christopher Landon, O’Connor played Nyla, a sharp-witted character who helped navigate the chaotic, blood-soaked twists of the story. This background makes them well-equipped to handle Scream 7’s signature blend of meta-horror, high stakes, and clever dialogue.
O’Connor’s career includes standout performances in Ghostbusters: Afterlife and its sequel Frozen Empire and Marvel’s Madame Web. Known for their range and presence, O’Connor is the perfect fit for the layered, high-stakes drama that Scream 7 demands.
