Scream 5 is Ready to Roll!

Scream 5 is officially completed and dedicated to Wes Craven as creators share the final title card and celebrate the film’s post-production wrap. #ForWes

Scream fans felt the tremor before they saw the headline.

A few hours ago, music editor Matthew Llewellyn quietly celebrated the end of Scream 5’s post-production with a photo — one he promptly erased — revealing nothing less than the film’s finalized title card. A blink-and-you-missed-it moment, but enough to send the fandom spiraling.

A dedication worthy of Woodsboro

Shortly after, directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, Tyler Gillett, and producer Chad Villella made it official: Scream (2022) is complete — and it carries a dedication to Wes Craven himself.

The tribute doesn’t stop at the credits. The film also introduces a character named in his honor: Wes Hicks, played by Dylan Minnette — a nod subtle enough to be sweet, but meaningful enough to land with longtime fans.

#ForWes takes over

The announcement — and the now-iconic hashtag #ForWes — spread quickly, embraced not only by the entire fandom but also by Marianne Maddalena, Craven’s friend and producer of the original saga, who echoed the celebration in her Instagram Stories.

A date worth the countdown

Scream 5 hits theaters on January 14th, 2022. For every update, easter egg, and production breadcrumb we’ve documented so far, click here.

Ghost Face is sharpening the knives — and this time, the tribute cuts deeper.
