A new sneak peek from Entertainment Weekly sheds light on Sidney Prescott’s return to Woodsboro in Scream 4. After ten years, director Wes Craven reunites with screenwriter Kevin Williamson and original cast members Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, and David Arquette for the highly anticipated sequel.
The article explains Sidney’s return in an intriguing setup: now an author on a book tour, her memoir “Out of Darkness” chronicles her survival story, drawing her back to the small town that became a nightmare. Unfortunately, her homecoming triggers a fresh wave of terror, thanks to yet another Ghostface killer.
Craven describes Sidney’s mindset as deeply troubled:
“Sid is under attack. She has a phobia—she’s never come back to her town except for the funeral of her father. Now she’s returning to a world that is sane again, and then, of course, immediately it is not!”
This new twist promises to add layers to the Scream saga, with Sidney facing both her past and new horrors, including the presence of Emma Roberts as part of the younger generation in the franchise.
A heartfelt thanks to Joe Wells for tipping us off about this exciting revelation!
